Juicing is a very popular concept available in Southern California. All of my friends are constantly stopping at Juice Bars in Santa Monica, Venice and beyond in search of a good juice (and often times a shot of wheat grass).
I have to admit I never got into this movement. I prefer a latte over a green drink that smells funny any day of the week. However, so many of my friends do it that I decided to look up the health benefits AND go and try my first green drink (my nickname for it- even though mine was more red).
It turns out that freshly juiced vegetables give your body an INSTANT boost of nutrients, enzymes, vitamins and minerals in a form that allows the body to easily assimilate, absorb and digest. Plus the nutrients get into your bloodstream within 30 minutes of conception! Wow, that is fast.
How about some more benefits? Well you will get much more than the recommended daily serving of veggies in just one green drink (don’t worry you can get the 12 oz.). Plus it includes magical things that do things like detox our bodies, detox liver, make the body strong, rebuild blood cells and help prevent and remove cancer cells.
Basically the benefits made me think perhaps I should share this with my readers. Nutrition is a very important part of health. And those with eating disorders or poor eating habits may not be getting the proper nutrition. Wouldn’t it be cool to get so many amazing things in one small drink? I think it’s worth it!
At just $3.50 you can get a 12 oz. Veggie Drink from One Life Natural Foods on Main Street in Santa Monica. If you can’t get to that location then google Juice Bars in your area (many Whole Foods have them). I recommend trying it with beets and carrots to start so it is a bit sweeter.
Good luck and here’s to your nutrition!
