“Mike and Molly” is the new CBS sitcom centered on a couple who met at Overeaters Anonymous. Is this a step in the right direction to help America (and the world) understand overeating and obesity or is this just an excuse to tell fat jokes?
I personally don’t mind the appearance of the characters, however, it seems a lot of viewers have complained about seeing “fat people” be intimate. WOW. This is 2010 I think it is time for the world to wake up and realize discriminating in any way shape or form is not acceptable. Really? Would you say that about another “group” of people? If so, please refer yourself to a class on discrimination and learn about equal rights.
I also think the amount of fat jokes is a bit much. I mean we can see the characters, why must they joke so much about weight? I mean if we are writing real TV then the Friend’s characters Monica and Rachel should sit around all the time complaining of starvation and over exercise.
The latest hype of the size of TV characters and a story line revolving around weight is shameful. I feel bad for the world. We need to start going to school a bit more and stop watching so much mindless TV (and mind you I ADORE TV). But seriously let’s get going people. It’s time to get off your sofa and contribute to the world. I suggest starting with World Hunger. Seriously.
